the life of…

  • After making it to the top of the mountain I blacked out and I don’t remember much. All I can really tell you is when I woke up I saw the faint outline of what looks to be a human. What we all thought was the beast really turned out to be our late pilot. After seeing him I could feel the cold air and see the dark clouds coming quick. I quickly hurried down the mountain to go tell the boys that there really wasn’t a beast, that it was actually our pilot from our plane.

  • When I first saw the outline I was really scared, but then as I slowly moved towards the outline and saw it was our pilot, I was no longer scared. I became concerned that he needed my help, until I realized he was dead. All that was going through my mind was panic because of what the other boys said they wanted to do to the beast…kill it.  I was trying to piece everything together in my head about the crash and how the pilot may have died.

  • It’s been a few days since I have last blogged, but me and most of the other boys are headed to the mountain to find the beast. Earlier we stopped to have something eat and drink some water. At the moment we there’s a shortage of drinking water, but we are trying to manage it. After our little break we headed for the mountain again. Along the way we met some hunters.  They showed us what they believed to be pig droppings. One of the boys named Jack, begins to hunt for the pig that has left the droppings. All the boys quickly agree with Jack and they too start hunting for the pig.

  • I don’t really know what to think about the whole situation. It’s as though the boys change their mind or interest at the drop of a hat.  We had been on a journey to find the beast, thinking that if we headed towards the mountain we would find this beast.  Now we have taken a detour to find a pig.  Not knowing if the pig exists either. Hopefully, we will get back on track and find the beast.

  • We have now been on the island for a few months now and all of the boys are turning on me. They won’t help build the shelters, or gather the drinking water, but most importantly they didn’t help keep the fire going. All the boys care about is the supposed beast they think they saw. The boys only thing on the boy’s minds was to hunt the beast and kill it. They no longer care about how we are going to live, eat and drink.

  • This makes me feel angry and upset because I’m trying to care for them and myself. All they care about right now is that beast which I’m not even sure exists because it was dark and they didn’t see it clearly, it could have been anything. The boys have really upset me.  I am now doing everything by myself and I could really use their help, one person cannot do it by themselves.

  • After being on the island for a few days we all moved into a daily rhythm. After the morning sun rose half of the boys would play while we still had the crisp morning air. Around the afternoon time the sun really started beating down on us and it became really hot and sometimes unbearable. When the horrid sun was beating down on us most of us boys didn’t do much; some napped while others would sat around or some continued to play. As evening time can the sun set and the air became cooler, unfortunately, with the cooler air comes the dark night sky.

  • Personally, I liked that there were no adults around. It was being able to do what I wanted when I wanted too. Although my choices were limited as to what I could do on the island.  Still I was very uneasy about my surroundings, and I am not going to say I wasn’t a little scared.  My focus was to make sure we had enough to eat and drink. Like I have said before I am one of the oldest, so I felt like I had to step up and take charge some of the times.

    •    Hello my name is Simon and this is my story. First let me give you a little back story before we get started. Currently, there is a big war going on where I live. Me and some other boys were on a plane to… While we were on the plane it was shoot down and the plane crashed on an island, which is currently were all of us boys are now. After our plane came to a stope we all got out of the plane. We were all confused of where we had landed and at this point we all are scared and didn’t know what to do.

    • All of the boys feel differently about being on the island, but personally I feel overwhelmed and at first a little scared. I didn’t really know any of the other boys on the plane until now. We all start introducing ourselves to get to know each other. I didn’t really know what to do at first, but being one of the older ones I felt like I had to stand up and do something.
